Helping you find meaning in the places you go, the food you taste, and the stories you carry home.

Hi, I’m Amber — a travel writer, home cook, content creator, and social psychology PhD based in Idaho.

I started Mae Today because I believe travel isn’t just about seeing new places… it’s about understanding them. And food isn’t just something we eat — it’s one of the truest ways to experience culture.

Some of my favorite memories didn’t come from bucket-list destinations or fancy hotels. They came from sunrise trails in national parks, slow mornings with a good cup of coffee, tiny cafés with unexpected flavors, thrifted treasures that held someone else’s story, and conversations with strangers who somehow felt familiar.

Mae Today is where I bring all of that together — meaningful travel, cultural flavor, outdoor moments, and the small details that make the world feel beautifully connected.

As an Idaho-based travel blogger and social psychology PhD, I share thoughtful travel guides, food-inspired stories, and practical insights for anyone who wants their adventures to feel grounding, memorable, and full of heart.

Whether I’m hiking in Grand Teton, wandering a Christmas market, recreating a dish I tasted on a trip, or exploring a walkable small town, I’m always chasing the same thing — that moment when something in you says: this matters.
