Best Romantic Dinner Options in Downtown Boise
A Classic Steakhouse Experience: The Brickyard
Nestled in the heart of downtown Boise, The Brickyard has long been a go-to for couples looking for a classic, upscale Valentine’s Day dinner.
There are plenty of romantic restaurants in Boise, but when I was searching for the perfect steakhouse-style vibe, I wanted something elevated without being overly formal. The Brickyard struck that balance perfectly. It’s a place where you can dress up, enjoy high-quality food, and still feel comfortable.
One of the highlights is the tableside-tossed salad. Each salad is customized to your liking and prepared right next to your table, adding a fun and interactive element to the meal. We ordered the Beef Wellington and Duck Two Ways, both priced around $40. Each entrée came with the tableside salad, a freshly baked sourdough roll with butter, and a lemon sherbet palate cleanser.
They also offer a fixed-price menu for $44, which includes an entrée, salad, rolls, sides, and dessert, making it a great value for a traditional steakhouse experience. The ambiance is warm and intimate, with dim lighting, exposed brick, and live piano music in the evenings that adds to the romantic atmosphere.

A Modern Upscale Dinner: Trillium at The Grove Hotel
If you’re looking for something a bit more modern and refined, Trillium, located inside The Grove Hotel, is an excellent Valentine’s Day dinner option.
The atmosphere is upscale but welcoming, making it feel special without being stuffy. The standout dish for me was the beef stroganoff. This is one of my favorite dishes, and I order it whenever I see it on a menu. Trillium’s version was exceptional. Rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced.
What really stood out was how approachable the pricing felt for a restaurant of this caliber. The cocktail menu is also creative and thoughtfully curated, making it easy to linger after dinner and enjoy the refined vibe of the space.

Best Valentine’s Day Cocktail Bars in Boise
After dinner, downtown Boise offers some of the most intimate and thoughtfully designed cocktail bars in the city.
Thick as Thieves is a hidden speakeasy-style bar that’s perfect for couples who appreciate craft cocktails and ambiance. The candlelit interior, stylish decor, and welcoming staff create a romantic and intimate atmosphere that feels ideal for Valentine’s Day. The drinks are unique, well-balanced, and clearly made with intention.
If you’re looking for a second stop, 8 Horses Lounge offers a slightly more relaxed experience while still maintaining a cozy, conversational vibe. It’s quiet enough to talk, comfortable enough to linger, and a great way to wind down the evening without the energy of a loud bar.

Best Outdoor Valentine’s Day Date: Hyde Park & Camel’s Back Park
If you and your partner prefer something more active, Boise’s North End offers one of the best outdoor Valentine’s Day dates in the city.
Start with a stroll through Hyde Park, a charming historic district filled with boutique shops and cozy cafes. Grab a warm drink from Hyde Perk or Java and take your time wandering the tree-lined streets.
From there, head over to Camel’s Back Park. The short but steep hike rewards you with panoramic views of the Boise Foothills and downtown skyline. Timing it for late afternoon allows you to catch the sunset, making it a simple but incredibly romantic way to spend time together.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park is nestled in Boise’s North End, a district characterized by historic architecture, boutique shops, and cozy cafes. Imagine yourself strolling hand in hand through the tree-lined streets while popping in and out of boutique shops. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. This area is home to charming cafes and eateries, making it the perfect pit stop for a cup of coffee or a sweet treat with your loved one.
We popped into Hyde Perk and grabbed a mocha to go, but if you want to sit down and enjoy your coffee, consider grabbing a seat at Java. You can enjoy the cozy indoor environment or take a seat on the outdoor patio for some fresh air. Either way, you will have the chance to engage in heartfelt conversations as you take in the delightful atmosphere of this historic district.

Camel’s Back Park
This park is just a short walk away and allows you to easily transition from the quaint streets of Hyde Park into a lovely outdoor scene with breathtaking views just a short (but steep) hike up Camel’s Back Hill.
The park is also known for the extensive trail system that extends into the outskirts of the actual park. If you are extra adventurous and looking for more of a fitness-inspired date, you can go for a few-mile hike or even a trail run. Many trails are suitable for all skill levels.
Hiking the trails and conquering the ascent together can deepen your connection and create lasting memories of overcoming challenges as a team.
As you ascend the main hill, you will be in awe at the panoramic views of the Boise Foothills and the city skyline. Timing is key, and a late afternoon hike at Camel’s Back Park gives you the chance to witness a mesmerizing sunset. The warm hues painting the sky, coupled with the serenity of the natural surroundings, create the perfect backdrop for your romantic adventure.
The natural beauty, combined with the architectural charm of Hyde Park, serves as the perfect canvas for creating cherished memories frozen in time, so make sure your phone is charged and ready for picture-taking!

Best Playful Valentine’s Day Date With a View: Topgolf
If you’re looking for something more lighthearted and fun, Topgolf offers a playful alternative to a traditional Valentine’s Day date.
You don’t need to know how to golf to enjoy it. The games are beginner-friendly, the bays are climate-controlled, and the views of the Boise foothills make it a surprisingly scenic experience. Add drinks, shareable snacks, and a little friendly competition, and you’ve got a date that’s full of laughs and low pressure.

The Game
If you don’t know how to golf… not a problem, you don’t need to. There are game levels for all beginners, including an Angry Birds game, which was my personal favorite. The playful nature of the game adds a touch of excitement to your Valentine’s Day as you get caught up in laughter and make new memories.
One of the great parts about Top Golf is that it combines the fun of golfing with a vibrant social atmosphere. While you can easily bond with your partner during your time there, you can also interact with others if you are a more social couple.
The Perks
This is also a weather-friendly date! You won’t need to worry about the weather affecting your plans—Topgolf Boise offers a climate-controlled environment. You will be able to stay warm even in chilly temps thanks to the adjustable heaters in each bay. Whether it’s sunshine, rain, or snow outside, you and your partner can focus on the fun without any weather-related concerns.
Topgolf has plenty of tasty snacks and meals on its menu, so you can eat and play at the same time. We ordered the pretzel bites and the lemon pepper boneless wings, which were a great snack. They also have plenty of cocktails and beer available. Having a Moscow mule to sip on between swings was great.
The highlight of this experience is the stunning views. This location has a perfectly unique backdrop for your Valentine’s Day date and is definitely ‘Instagrammable’ if that’s your thing.
Whether you are a seasoned golfer or a first-timer, the shared laughter and memorable moments at Topgolf will make this Valentine’s Day a celebration of love, connection, and a whole lot of fun.
Best Valentine’s Day Brunch: Rembrandt’s
For couples who love brunch dates, Rembrandt’s in Eagle, Idaho, is a standout option. Housed in a beautifully restored church, the space feels cozy, artistic, and intimate.
The brunch menu offers a mix of classic and creative dishes, including eggs Benedict, scrambles, French toast, and Spanish-inspired options like breakfast tacos and chorizo dishes. The full coffee bar and cocktail menu make it easy to turn brunch into a leisurely experience.
If the weather cooperates, the outdoor patio with gas fireplaces is a lovely place to linger before heading out for a walk along the nearby Boise River Greenbelt.

This brunch location even has a full coffee bar as well as a traditional alcoholic bar. You can choose from a variety of traditional gourmet coffees to start and then top off your meal with a ‘mulemosa’ or ‘bartender’s coffee.’
This cozy but lively environment sparks conversation and adds a touch of sophistication to your brunch date. You’ll be able to enjoy your partner’s company over a delicious plate of food.
If the weather permits, Rembrandt’s has a lovely outdoor patio area with small gas fireplaces to cozy up around. This brunch spot is also known for its attentive and friendly service, ensuring that your Valentine’s Day brunch is not only delicious but also served with a side of genuine hospitality.
Nestled in the heart of Eagle, Rembrandt’s is surrounded by quaint streets perfect for walking hand in hand after brunch. If you’re up to it and the weather permits, consider continuing your walk along the Boise River. There is a Greenbelt entrance less than a mile away.
