#1. Best Romantic Dinner: The Brickyard
Nestled in the heart of downtown Boise, this trendy and inviting establishment has become a go-to destination for couples seeking an unforgettable evening.
There are honestly a decent selection of restaurants to go to for a romantic date in Boise. When I was on the hunt for the perfect steakhouse-type vibe I was looking for something that didn’t have a ton of food since I am allergic and don’t like to smell. I also wanted something that I could dress up for but yet didn’t need to look like I was going to a high-class cocktail party.
I checked out The Brickyard’s Instagram, website, and Google reviews. I also did the same for similar restaurants. Many people gravitate towards Chandler’s Steakhouse for a “fancy” dinner but honestly, their menu has less appealing options (perhaps because so many included seafood) and they do request that you dress in business dress which was a bit over the top for the vibe I wanted.
The Food
I love the selection of food that The Brickyard offers and the fact that have a table-side tossed salad. Each plate of salad is customized to your liking and they have a variety of toppings and different dressings to choose from. Your wait staff will assemble your salad and hand-toss it right next to your table.
We order the Beef Wellington and Duck Two Ways. Each of these dishes was right around $40 and included the entree, Brickyard table side salad, a freshly baked sourdough roll with butter, and lemon sherbet as a pallet cleanser after the salad. We both loved our meals and while the portions weren’t huge, I was barely able to finish mine given the salad and roll I had before. It is plenty of food.
They even have a ‘Fixed Price Menu’ which is $44 and includes an entrée, tableside salad, freshly baked rolls, grilled vegetables, whipped potatoes, and an Idaho huckleberry shortcake for dessert. The entrees are various cuts of meat, your typical steakhouse-type meal.
While we didn’t order dessert they must have had leftover triple chocolate muffins from brunch because they sent us home with two (for free) and we loved having them as a treat when we got home.

The Environment
Now let’s talk about the ambiance. As you step into The Brickyard, you’re immediately greeted by an atmosphere that effortlessly combines modern chic with a touch of rustic warmth. The dimly lit space, exposed brick walls, and cozy seating create an intimate ambiance that sets the stage for a romantic evening.
We loved that it wasn’t too loud when we went (which was on a Thursday winter night) but the soft piano playing set the mood. They host a variety of solo pianists from 6-9 pm Wednesday- Saturday evenings and have a famous dueling piano show every Friday and Saturday night starting at 10 pm. Whether you go for a Valentine’s Day Date or a relaxing evening and good food, you won’t be disappointed.

#2. Best Outdoor Valentine’s Day Date: Hyde Park & Camel’s Back Park Hike
If you want to take your partner on a Valentine’s Day date in Boise but prefer something more active and less inside, then this is the perfect date option for you. By mid-February, the weather in Boise is pretty mild. It is perfect for taking a stroll with a warm cup of coffee in hand.
When it comes to planning the perfect outdoor date in Boise, Hyde Park and a Camel’s Back Park hike are honestly a match made in heaven. The charm of Hyde Park’s historic district combined with the easily accessible yet breathtaking view you can experience at Camel’s Back Park makes for the perfect outing.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park is nestled in Boise’s North End which is made up of historic architecture, boutique shops, and cozy cafes. Imagine yourself strolling hand in hand through the tree-lined streets while popping in and out of boutique shops. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. This area is home to charming cafes and eateries, making it the perfect pit stop for a cup of coffee or a sweet treat with your loved one.
We popped into Hyde Perk and grabbed a mocha to go but if you want to sit down and enjoy your coffee, consider grabbing a seat at Java. You can enjoy the cozy indoor environment or take a seat on the outdoor patio for some fresh air. Either way, you will have the chance to engage in heartfelt conversations as you take in the delightful atmosphere of this historic district.

Camel’s Back Park
This park is just a short walk away and allows you to easily transition from the quaint streets of Hyde Park into a lovely outdoor scene with breathtaking views just a short (but steep) hike up Camel’s Back Hill.
The park is also known for the extensive trail system that extends into the outskirts of the actual park. If you are extra adventurous and looking for more of a fitness-inspired date you can go for a few-mile hike or even a trail run. There are trails that are suitable for all skill levels.
Hiking the trails and conquering the ascent together can deepen your connection and create lasting memories of overcoming challenges as a team.
As you ascend the main hill you will be in awe at the panoramic views of the Boise Foothills and the city skyline. Timing is key, and a late afternoon hike at Camel’s Back Park gives you the chance to witness a mesmerizing sunset. The warm hues painting the sky, coupled with the serenity of the natural surroundings, create the perfect backdrop for your romantic adventure.
The natural beauty, combined with the architectural charm of Hyde Park, serves as the perfect canvas for creating cherished memories frozen in time so make sure your phone is charged and ready for picture-taking!

#3. Best Valentine’s Day Date: Top Golf with a View
If you are down for a good time full of laughs, quality scenery, and tasty drinks, then Top Golf Boise is a great Valentine’s Day date option. While not technically in Boise, it sits right on the outskirts of Meridian, and from the golf bay you’ll have a stunning view of the Boise foothills.
While some people love the idea of a more romantic and intimate date, that’s not everyone’s favorite way to bond. A place like Top Golf allows you to do something out of the box.
Topgolf takes basic golf and turns it into an interactive experience. You’ll love the opportunity to engage in friendly competition as you aim for targets and attempt to earn points with each swing.

The Game
If you don’t know how to golf… not a problem, you don’t need to. There are game levels for all beginners, including an angry birds game, which was my personal favorite. The playful nature of the game adds a touch of excitement to your Valentine’s Day as you get caught up in laughter and make new memories.
One of the great parts about Top Golf is that it combines the fun of golfing with a vibrant social atmosphere. While you can easily bond with your partner during your time there, you can also interact with others if you are a more social couple.
The Perks
This is also a weather-friendly date! You won’t need to worry about the weather affecting your plans—Topgolf Boise offers a climate-controlled environment. You will be able to stay warm even in chilly temps thanks to the adjustable heaters in each bay. Whether it’s sunshine, rain, or snow outside, you and your partner can focus on the fun without any weather-related concerns.
Topgolf has plenty of tasty snacks and meals on its menu so you can eat and play at the same time. We ordered the pretzel bites and the lemon pepper boneless wings which were a great snack. They also have plenty of cocktails and beer available. Having a Moscow mule to sip on between swings was great.
The highlight of this experience is the stunning views. This location has a perfectly unique backdrop for your Valentine’s Day date and is definitely ‘Instagrammable’ if that’s your thing.
Whether you are a seasoned golfer or first-timer, the shared laughter and memorable moments at Topgolf will make this Valentine’s Day a celebration of love, connection, and a whole lot of fun.
#4. Best Brunch Date: Rembrants
For couples who want an intimate and artistic ambiance, Rembrandt’s in Eagle, Idaho is the perfect venue for a Valentine’s Day brunch date. This once-upon-a-time church has been transformed into a charming eatery where tasty coffee, delicious meals, and friendly staff collide.
Rembrandt’s is well known for its delectable brunch menu. The menu features a variety of creative dishes. From assorted eggs benedict options to mouthwatering scrambles and indulgent French toast, every item on the menu has been carefully crafted to tantalize your taste buds. The menu has a bit of a Spanish flare so you will see a few chorizo dishes as well as items like breakfast tacos and a vegetarian breakfast quesadilla.

This brunch location even has a full coffee bar as well as a traditional alcoholic bar. You can choose from a variety of traditional gourmet coffees to start and then top off your meal with a ‘mulemosa’ or ‘bartender’s coffee.’
This cozy but lively environment sparks conversation and adds a touch of sophistication to your brunch date. You’ll be able to enjoy your partner’s company over a delicious plate of food.
If weather permits, Rembrandt’s has a lovely outdoor patio area with small gas fireplaces to cozy up around. This brunch spot is also known for its attentive and friendly service, ensuring that your Valentine’s Day brunch is not only delicious but also served with a side of genuine hospitality.
Nestled in the heart of Eagle, Rembrandt’s is surrounded by quaint streets perfect for walking hand in hand after brunch. If you’re up to it and the weather permits, consider continuing your walk along the Boise River. There is a Greenbelt entrance less than a mile away.
